Reminders: Thank you to all the parents that came to parent/teacher conferences! It was so great to get to speak with you about your student. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to sit down for a conference again.
This is a big week for our students! We have Iowa Assessments on Wednesday and Thursday. Students will be testing from 8:30-11:30 both days so it is extremely important that your child be on time to school. Also please make sure that your child gets a good night's rest and a hearty breakfast so that they are at their best when they take the assessments.
Thanksgiving break is November 26 and 27.
English 7: Monday- students will start their opinion essays. Students will be able to pick their topic for this paper with the focus being on supporting their opinion with sound facts and examples. This paper will be due on Thursday. Specific details will be given in class.
Tuesday- work day on opinion essays
Wednesday- no class due to Iowa Assessments testing schedule
Thursday- opinion essays due at the end of the hour
Friday- No Red Ink practice and blogging activity
English 8: Monday- Students will be assigned their persuasive speech and given specific details for the activity. We will then start presenting our Reader's Theater skits that students worked on last week.
Tuesday- finish presenting Reader's Theater skits and work on persuasive speeches
Wednesday- work day on persuasive speech
Thursday- no class due to Iowa Assessments testing schedule
Friday- begin presenting persuasive speeches
